The Brief

The flagship store of one of the country’s major retailers had partnered with an award-winning city bar to create an intimate pop-up cocktail bar to open in time for the pre-Christmas sales period.

The client contacted Warner Contracts to discuss their requirements. The specification was for sofa-style banquette seating together with commercial tables, chairs & bar stools. Further discussion with the client revealed that the seating upholstery should be ‘pink and classy’.

There’s a definite skill to matching the right commercial furniture to each individual hospitality venue. There may be a strong design vision for the space which needs to be considered. And the tables and chairs should be chosen to complement this aesthetic.

We knew the store’s pop-up bar had to be an inviting proposition. It had to offer a stylish retreat for weary shoppers to take a break from all the Christmas hustle and bustle.

For this client we recommended, supplied and installed the full bar furniture requirement in just two weeks.

Our Approach

The first step was to undertake further research of the client and the bar company itself, so we could better understand the brief and their design vision. We were then able to suggest suitable products that would be the best match.

For the tables we proposed a flexible option of using separate table bases and table tops. We suggested using our bespoke square White Carrara Marble F204 Laminate table tops with a sophisticated decorative finish, which we knew would look good with the pink chairs.

As well as fitting the bill in terms of style, these laminate table tops are incredibly hard wearing. They are also heat, stain and scratch resistant so will stand up well to constant use.

We can customise our bespoke laminate table tops in different sizes and with different contrasting or self edges. For this client we recommended a stylish brass edging which complemented the brass finish on the chair frames and legs.  

To complement the white laminate table tops we suggested two options to the client – our Hera and Forza table bases. The client opted for the Hera square S Brass Dining Table dining because they felt these table bases better matched the edging of the table tops.

The Hera range of table bases makes a great choice for any contemporary hospitality. They have an elegant design comprising a sturdy steel pedestal with a black power coated finish and a contrasting brass base plate. The Hera also comes in a coffee, dining and poseur table sizes.

Chair Challenge

The trickiest aspect of the specification was to source the chairs and stools for the bar. There was a very limited brief and a strict deadline. In addition, the client wanted a range of options to choose from. We faced a real challenge to source products that were immediately available but didn’t come with a hefty price tag

So we set about sourcing pink furniture that would tie-in nicely with the tables but be distinct enough in their own right. We suggested products that came in a range of sizes and variations so the client could mix and match. We suggested stools, carver chairs and side chairs to help create a complementary design flow to the space.

The chosen option comprised a classy, eye-catching mid-century design chair which came in soft pink recycled velvet upholstery and brass frame.

Brass Edge Marble Tops

These chairs have an elegant art-deco style with a comfortable, fully upholstered fan stitched back. The metal frame, arm rests and legs have a tasteful brass finish which fully matches with our Hera table bases and table top edging.

The upholstery comprises a rich but not overpowering pink velvet made from 100% recycled PET.

The client loved the final specification and confirmed the order very quickly. And then we delivered and completed the on-site fit out as quickly as we could.
